Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m Laura Payne. Hi. I’m a researcher, consultant and trainer in peacebuilding and conflict transformation. I’m a Research Fellow at Coventry University’s Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations and the Director of RISING Global Peace Forum.
At the moment a lot of my work is with faith groups looking at how they’ve adopted the concept of conflict prevention, and particularly how they might be making use of technology. Various threads of this work have led me to Nigeria, Zanzibar, Uganda, South Africa, Solomon Islands and Turkey during 2014/2015.
I also have a longstanding research interest in middle-eastern politics, especially militarisation and security. And I really, really like videos of cats. Too much.
I’ll try to share any useful nuggets of information that come my way. Maybe also shed a little light on why things are as they are in some of the world’s trouble spots.
I’ll probably write about stuff outside of that though. A change is as good as a rest, and all that.
